The ground rules

Terms of use.

Short, readable, and meant to be read. If anything here is unclear, ask before you rely on it.

1. These terms

These terms cover your use of lastsesh.com (“LastSesh”, “we”), run by one person in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. By using the site you agree to them. If you buy coaching, the coaching agreement also applies, and where the two differ about coaching, the agreement wins. How we handle personal information is in the privacy policy.

2. Not medical advice

Everything on LastSesh is general education, written to be accurate and sourced, but it is not medical advice, diagnosis, therapy or addiction treatment, and reading it does not create a doctor-patient or therapist-client relationship. Withdrawal affects people differently. Talk to a doctor before changing any medication, if you are pregnant, if you have a mental health condition, or if your symptoms are severe.

LastSesh is not a crisis service and nobody monitors it around the clock. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (US) or 9-8-8 (Canada), or call your local emergency number.

3. Who can use it

Anyone can read the site. You must be 18 or older to create an account or buy coaching.

4. Your account

You sign in with a one-time email link or with Google. Keep access to that email account secure, because whoever controls it can open your logbook. Tell us at info@lastsesh.com if you think someone else has used your account. You can delete your account at any time from the logbook. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

5. Coaching subscriptions

Coaching is sold month to month in Canadian dollars at the prices shown on the coaching page, billed through Stripe. Your plan renews each month until you cancel. You can cancel or switch plans at any time from the billing link in your logbook; cancelling stops the next renewal and your plan runs to the end of the month already paid.

Refunds follow the 30-day guarantee and the rules in the coaching agreement. Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under consumer protection law where you live.

If we ever change a price, we will email subscribers at least 30 days before the new price applies, and you can cancel before then. If we ever stop offering coaching, we will stop billing and refund any month we cannot deliver.

6. Using the site fairly

Please do not:

  • try to get into another person’s account or data, or probe, overload or disrupt the site;
  • use the site or coaching to harass anyone, or send content that is unlawful or threatening;
  • scrape or republish the site in bulk, or present its content as your own.

You are welcome to share links, quote short passages with a link back, and print pages for your own use.

7. Content and ownership

The writing, design and tools on LastSesh belong to LastSesh. Studies and sources we cite belong to their authors. What you write in your logbook stays yours; you let us store and display it to you (and your coach, if you have one) so the service can work, and that permission ends when you delete it.

8. Links to other sites

We link to research, helplines, meetings and other free resources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for them. We do not take money for any link on LastSesh.

9. Availability

We work to keep the site up and accurate, but it is provided as it is, without a promise that it will always be available, error-free, or up to date with the newest research. We may change or remove features.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, LastSesh is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the site, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, or CAD $50 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Newfoundland and Labrador and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If something goes wrong, write to info@lastsesh.com first; most things can be fixed by email. If it cannot be resolved, the courts of Newfoundland and Labrador will decide, unless the consumer law where you live gives you the right to bring the claim at home.

12. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top changes. Changes that affect paying subscribers are emailed to them at least 30 days ahead.
